December, 1998 – The Great Lynchburg Train Crash, Virginia Public Risk and Insurance Management Association (PRIMA), Richmond, VA – Organized and orchestrated a 2.5 hour presentation demonstrating the impact on the City of Lynchburg, VA of a major train derailment in March, 1998. This wreck resulted in the destruction of significant city property and disruption of city services.

Conducted a 90 minute presentation on the proper way to conduct a request for proposal process for insurance. Emphasis was on cost effectiveness and proper protection for the purchaser.
June, 1993 – Introduction to Computerized Insurance Specifications Preparation, Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation, Richmond, VA. Conducted a one day training program for a number of rural transit operators on the use of a newly developed computer template to develop insurance specifications documents.
October, 1992 – Risk Management and Insurance Issues of Vanpools, Association For Commuter Transportation (ACT) Annual Conference, Vista Hotel, New York, NY. Participated in a panel discussion about the liabilities of vanpools especially as they relate to employer sponsored ride sharing programs. My position was that, if properly managed, they do not pose undue risk to a sponsoring organization.
